We like to use a sports analogy in describing our process of implementing an investment policy. The investment policy is the "game plan" and BHK, acting as coach and general manager for the client/owner, helps build a team of players to implement the game plan. The process is ever evolving as the "game" progresses. BHK is there to make adjustments as deemed advantageous, to provide guidance as to the emphasis on offense or defense and to substitute players according to our view of their particular skills.

The team may consist of active investment managers, alternative assets and passive investments. The effort is to provide diversification through a team that is complementary and with little duplication or overlap as to style or security selection.
